When Was The Last Time You Had This Much Fun?

Last weekend Emmy had a dance competition in Durham and Neal was out of town in Orlando for the week. So I called up my trusty Dad to see if he wanted to come get Ally and Charles-Allen for the day. He agreed (you must loose your mind as you get older) and so that morning we meet at the Newton Grove exit and we switched off. Charles-Allen and Ally were both excited, but I think Charles-Allen was out of control excited. I had gotten them dressed so pretty, especially Ally. She looked like a pink princess. Her hair was blond and curly. She had the cutest pink outfit on and she even had on her new powder pink Tarheel jacket. When I got her back this is what she looked like.

Unfortunately, the pictures don't do her justice. She looked like my dad had thrown her in the pig pen and she had rooted all day with the hogs. Her beautiful hair was a MESS! And I couldn't decide if she had more snot or dirt on her face. It's anybodies guess. And her pants will never be able to be worn out in public again, unless she goes to Pepa's house. But all that really matters is that she had fun, and she definitely did. My mom let my kids go "shopping" in her shop and Charles-Allen came back with a whole bag full of junkr really cool stuff. Ally had on two pretty necklaces that she refused to take off when it was bedtime. And they were exhausted which was good for me because they were so ready to get in their bed. Thank goodness for Pepa.

Spending the Day At Pepa's

My kids love to go down to my parents house.  So when Emmy tracks out we try to go down once or twice and since she's tracked out now we went down on Tuesday.  My parents live in a very rural area and so Emmy and Charles Allen love to go "hunting" and ride on the Gator.  On this trip they went "hunting" in the backyard with the BB guns my parents got Emmy and Charles Allen for Charles Allen's birthday.  That was in November and this was the first time they got to shoot them because there daddy is such a grandma and he's terrified they'll get hurt.  But anyway, they had a blast and apparently Emmy is an expert marksman, she barely missed the target any.

I love the way Emmy is holding the gun on top of her shoulder.  It must have been the trick because she hit the target almost everytime.  Charle Allen was not so lucky.   He had a hard time hitting the target even when he was very close to it.
I love the way they both had to wear their camo gear.

How bout how Charles Allen is holding his BB gun under his chin.  Talk about safety minded.  Maybe Neal has a point.

My dad is trying to help Charles Allen aim but he can't see the site for Charles-Allen's hair.  If Pepa had his way Charles-Allen's hair would have been shaved long ago.

They had a terrific time and can't wait to go back "hunting". Thanks Pepa!
