Happy Birthday Emmy!

Today is our sweet baby girls birthday. I can't believe it's been 8 years already. It truly seems like yesterday when we broought her home from the hospital. We have so enjoyed her special spirit and feel so blessed to have her in our lives. We love you Emmy!

I guess it comes with age and not really caring about impressing people anymore - that mind-set belongs in high school, as far as I can tell. I now tend to seek out people who are good for my soul, and I really think I have a good radar for the attributes I most admire in a person. I think we all tend to weed our garden as we mature. Our families keep us busy and our homes become our sanctuaries. For me, simple pleasures are enough to keep me happy, for the most part, and friends are part of the equation that keeps me balanced and fulfilled.
