Our Silly Boy
Charles-Allen is constantly keeping us on our toes. Here are just a couple of his silly antics from this past week.
#1
All the kids have loaded up getting reading to go to t-ball practice when I notice, as I'm walking to the truck, that Charles-Allen is getting out of the truck with his bat in hand.
Me: "Charles-Allen where are you going?"
Charles-Allen: "To kill the bug on my window with my bat."
Me: "Charles-Allen if you hit that window with that bat what do you think is going to happen to
the window?"
Charles-Allen: with a very thoughtful look on his face "It'll break."
Me: "And do you think your mama is going to be happy if you break the truck window?"
Charles-Allen: "No,....(still you can tell the wheels are turning) what about if I just hit it
easy like?"
Me: "No Charlsie, not even if you hit it easy like."
#2
The kids have to unload the dishwasher everyday. Emmy does the bottom and Charles-Allen does the top, which is mostly cups and plastic bowls. Usually he does very well, but some days he just doesn't want to do it.
Me: "Okay guys it's time to unload the dishwasher." Of course Emmy goes right to it and gets
the job done. Charles-Allen not so much.
CA: "Oh, I'm so tired, I think I'm gonna pass out."
Me: "You can pass out as soon as you unload your part of the dishwasher."
CA: "Mama, I told you I'm too tired, I'm gonna pass out if you make me."
Me: "If you pass out before you unload the dishwasher, I'm gonna spank your little hiney."
CA: "Ugggh, can't Emmy do it?"
Me: "No"
The next thing I know Charles-Allen falls flat on his face, without trying to break his fall at all. It would have been very convincing if I didn't know better. Neal is dieing laughing. I don't think it's nearly as funny. Charles-Allen continues to lay there like he's dead. I walk over and pop his hiney twice and he immediately pops up very upset with me.
CA: "Mama, why did you pop me, I passed out. I told you I was too tired to unload the dishwasher!"
Me: "And I told you to pass out after you unloaded the dishwasher. Now unload the dishwasher."
Oh, and if you happen to see any tormados (i.e. small gust of wind or cloudy skies) please don't send them to our house. Charlsie is deathly afraid of tormados.

Still Pregnant
Yes, I'm still pregnant. I offically turn 38 weeks today. The longest I've ever gone is 38 weeks and 1 day. Does that me I'll go soon? I'm starting to think not. I've had contractions 3 seperate times that lasted for at least 2 hours, nearly sent me to the hospital on 2 seperate occassions, and actually sent me to the hospital once only to be sent home 5 hours and one very painful I.V. later. I'm not a happy camper. And to make matters even worse my sweet hubby is walking around like a kid at Christmas just because Carolina won the championship. I mean, I'm happy about that too, but it does not overshadow the fact that I'm still pregnant at 38 weeks. Has he not heard the saying that, "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy"?

It's Time!
I'm so excited. I went for my 37 week check up today and my doctor was impressed that I was already 2 cent. last week. Then I told him that I almost came in yesterday because I was having contractions but they stopped after 2 hours so when he checked me he was like, "Wow, you're already at a 4." I could have kissed him, only not, but I was excited. Anyway, he told me since it was my 4th that as soon as I started having contractions that I needed to call in and tell them it was my fourth child and I was already at a 4 on my last doctor's visit and they didn't want me to wait because they were afraid of how fast it would go. Then he was like don't tell them you were at 4 tell them you were 3 centimeters that way when you get to the hospital they'll think you've progressed since the last visit. Very clever. So I'm thinking we'll be having a new baby tonight or tomorrow. Wish us luck!!

A Stressful Week
Last week was a little stressful to say the least. It all started Monday night before bed and Charles-Allen started throwing up. He never gets sick, but before Tuesday morning came he had thrown up 11 more times. We got no sleep all night because I was so paranoid he was going to throw up in the bed. He's not so good about throwing up in a bowl so I was constantly jumping up everytime he moaned or turned. The next day was much of the same and by nightfall Ally started throwing up. By Wednesday I had two very sick little kids but they were finally sleeping more than vomiting so it was a little better for me. Then Wednesday night Emmy, my always sick, catch everything child, began throwing up. She and Ally decided they would throw up all night and by Thursday morning Neal and I were exhausted. Unfortunately, Thursday I was home all day with three kids throwing up everywhere. On me, on the floor, on the bed, on the chair. I don't think I have ever washed so many sheets, towels, and clothes in one week. I was exhausted not to mention the fact that I'm over 7 months pregnant. Charles-Allen stopped being sick on Saturday, Ally on Sunday, and Emmy was still sick all day yesterday. Unfortunately, I realized in the middle of the night last night that her eardrum had busted. She was up and in a lot of pain so we gave her so medicine and Neal gave her a blessing and she was finally able to fall back to sleep. So off to the doctor we go to find out that Emmy has a busted eardrum in her right ear, a clogged and non functioning tube in her left ear, a double ear infection, and her personal favorite strep throat. The doctor also suggest that we bring Ally in since she hasn't been eating well and she has an ear infection. I think I'm about done in. But on the bright side Neal and I haven't gotten sick, yet and we were able to take care of our babies. One thing is for sure, this week has to be better!
