Farewell to October

October, my favorite month, is finally gone and I miss it already. Charles-Allen keeps saying that he misses Halloween and I know how he feels. But I 'm glad for November, Emmy tracks out and it's usually the only time we don't go somewhere during a track out. I feel like November is a time to slow down and just be thankful for what we have, and what we don't have that we don't want.

We had a blast at the State Fair with friends and family.

Somehow, Ally managed to get even sweeter during the month of October.

We went trunk-or-treating at church and trick-or-treating at Aunt Kristen's house.

And through it all Parker tagged along and was probably wondering what kind of crazy family she had been born into.

Farming

Our kids had a blast with all the free stuff that they could do at Mike's Tree Farm . It was nothing like our experience at our local corn maze and if you didn't read about it and want to you can go here.

Emmy got to pick cotton and bring it home. Cotton is a popular crop where we grew up. I don't see much of it around Garner.

Charles-Allen is in the collard patch. At least I think it's collards, Neal's mom said it was turnips.

They also had a blast feeding all the cute little animals around the farm. It was a perfect day.

Lovey on the Farm

Ally loved "riding" the tractor at Mike's Tree Farm. I thought we would never get her off and there was a long line of little kids that wanted a turn.

Washing Clothes

Emmy and Charles-Allen had a ball at Mike's Tree Farm pretending like they were washing clothes like in the old days. Emmy asked me if this was how I had to wash clothes when I was little. If I weren't so insulted it would have been funny:)

Charles-Allen is clearly not impressed.

Farm Girl

Emmy had a ball playing on the tractor at Mike's Tree Farm. It was such a beautiful. Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones who thought so. The hayride was a two hour wait. Needless to say we didn't go on the hayride.

Look at that beautiful Carolina blue sky. I'm not a good photographer so that should let you know just how pretty it was.

What, A Pot?

We went to Mike's Tree Farm a couple of weeks ago. It's located in the county where Neal and I grew up. It's another one of those big family farms that turned into an agri-tourism farm. We totally love it. This was our kids first look at an outhouse. They were totally grossed out. It was hillarious.

I think Neal was equally grossed out.

State Fair

We enjoyed another great time at the state fair this year.  It was so fun especially since we went with our family and friends.

I think the big slide is my favorite, but this will probably be our last year of being able to stay at the kitty rides.  The girls are getting too old and they want to go to the bigger rides.  It's been so convenient to be able to stay in one spot with the babies while the older kids go on the rides with their daddy.

This is the smaller slide, Emmy was big enough to go down the large slide, but not Charles-Allen.  Maybe next year.

We love taking a little snack break.

Bye, til next year!
